The Free Cheese Episode 461: Peggle
This week on The Free Cheese, is that a gnome on your desktop?
We celebrate the joy of random satisfaction in Peggle, comparing its multiple releases and sharing experiences we’ve had with other games like it.

Peggle is equal to a word search puzzle or cutting vegetables. I need to focus just enough that the cloud of distraction lifts but not so much that I can’t let my mind wander. It’s like that moment in the shower just after everything has rinsed off and you take a moment to stand naked in the silence of warm water.
I strongly recommend enjoying Peggle with a cup of coffee on Sunday mornings, preferably when it’s raining just slightly.

I looked forward to Peggle when I saw it was on The List this summer. I had heard such positive and addicting things throughout the years about it. That expectation led to my disappointment on this one. While I applaud its easy to approach casual nature, it’s not for me. I never felt like a level I beat was do to a certain strategy or skill I picked up throughout my playthrough. Even with casual games like this, I like to feel as if I’m learning and mastering the game and that is not here with Peggle.
P.S. Stay away from the Windows version if possible. Not counting it towards my review but it’s definitely not the best place to play this.
