It might not be the most straightforward game in the series’ history (or any game series’ history) but when you give Castlevania II a proper look, you can see how important it really is. At least, that’s what we tried to convince Matt.

One of the earliest examples of a day and night cycle in video games, a fluid world inhabited equally by monsters and men, all the while creating the template for the modern day Metroidvania. Castlevania II joins the month of “Golden II” as we celebrate all that is golden.
