Every week I ask my friends a question about video games and I compile their responses as an article for you to read and respond to. This week, with my excitement building for upcoming releases, I wanted to know what everyone else is excited about. Which games coming this fall are you most excited for?
Fallout 4 looks great. Mostly because I never beat New Vegas or Fallout 3, but Halo 5 looks amazing. There’s an infection playlist that includes classic maps and custom- I’m really stoked for it.
When is it technically fall? It’s definitely Super Mario Maker.
Yoshi’s Woolly World is a close second but if LittleBigPlanet has taught me anything it’s that playing other people’s levels can be an amazing experience.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain • The Deer God • Castle Crashers Remastered • Yoshi’s Woolly World • The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes
I’ve always been a huge fan of all of the series listed above. The Deer God is relatively new but I’ve been following it since its conception on Kickstarter some years back. I was lucky enough to receive the beta and test it. I fell in love with the game, it’s mechanics, and soundtrack. It can sometimes be downright unfair how hard it is, but it’s satisfying when I solve things.
The only fall release I can think of is Armikrog.
It’s a point and click game done in claymation. It’s the spiritual successor to Neverhood, also a point and click game, and it’s from the dudes who made Earthworm Jim.
Shovel Knight physical copy for Wii U because amiibo. #GOTYeveryyear
When I asked this question, I had one answer in mind. I tried to look at everything coming out this fall, but ultimately my original choice is my number one choice.
Super Mario Maker.
It’s out today and I can’t wait to start playing it. I already drew up my first level design, and I’ve spent the past month watching my favorite video game outlets post videos of their created stages. I’ve been thinking up ideas for how to ruin Kyle’s life, and I can’t wait to unlock every single amiibo costume in the game.
