Hello and welcome to thefreecheesedotcom! Just over a year ago, Dan and I started The Game Fart. It was meant to be a weekly podcast where we talked about video games, but it quickly transformed into something more than we had expected. We set up the website and were writing articles about gaming related topics that interested us or news that we found compelling. The one thing that I quickly learned was how much I enjoyed just hanging out with my friends and recording a podcast and talking about whatever we felt like discussing.

After a few months of recording The Game Fart, I started to think about what else we could be doing and what else I wanted to do. I realized that while talking about video games and writing about video games was great, that my friends all have different talents and different interests. I felt that I wanted to do something to help highlight those talents and give those interests a home. Since around May of 2013, I’ve had the idea for this website rattling around in my brain but I knew that I wanted to focus on The Game Fart and make it the best that it could be without taking on too much at once. That was five months ago at the time of this post. So with the help of everyone close to me, here we are.

I’ve sat down and talked with my friends and tried to shape this website into something that can help all of them. I don’t mean like Mother Theresa help, but you know, help give them an outlet. If you have been following The Game Fart, you’ve really only been seeing one side of things. That’s just one slice of the creativity that these folks have. This is the website where I want them to let creativity pour out of them. If there is an idea, I want it here.

I encourage you to poke around the website and see what interests you. We’re just getting this thing going so bear with us as the content slowly trickles onto the pages. I hope that I have made navigation straightforward and simple but if not: On the main page of the website you will find a “Featured” slider that highlights some of the content that we are promoting right now. Alongside of it you will see a blog loop that feeds you the latest content that has been added to the site. Along the top of the website, just beneath the logo, you should see the menu. Within the menu lies each facet of thefreecheesedotcom. Simply highlight it with your mouse (or finger, it is 2013, right?) and you should see a drop down menu on applicable sections. Clicking on the main topic will give you every post within it, while clicking on a specific category will give you posts specific to that category.

You should also notice when poking around that we have some new categories of content. There are several new podcasts for example. As the website is updated we will have information pertaining to each written out, but for now Dan has written a wonderful About Us page that you can check out to get the starting details you need to know about all of our new shows and sections.

Finally, I would just like to say thank you to everyone who has helped us to get here and thank you to everyone close to me who has put up with my nonsense in trying to get this all started. I am very much excited for the future of things to come and I can’t wait to see everything that we put together. If you have any questions or any suggestions please feel free to send them to [email protected]

Thank You!
